No idea who Despair is but this drawing looks so detailed, creepy as hell but detailed, well done.

Hey, i'd like to say that your rendition of Despair and the other endless are the best i have ever seen by a fan. I would even say that they are better than the original art. You are a real artist and i can actually "feel" your depictions of the characters.

+10 points to you for making internet more awesome!
+ another 10 because.. Sandman!

Thank you :) I think this is one of the series that turned out the best, and funny enough, had the least ammount of thought going into it.

Thanks! I think of the series this was probably the most thought through going into it. I tried to keep them all under 3hrs and in full colour, more as a way of practicing digital illsurations.

I wish you had done the comics

I like Gaiman's writing, but the art for that series pisses me off

Good job dude

This is amazing. If you would have illustrated the entire Sandman series I would have died happy. :)

Aww thanks so much - I think I would have been pretty pleased myself. That series was fun to do - taking only 3 hrs for each of the Endless. It was the first time I drew most of them, as well. Who's your favorite of the Endless?

You have the most perfect line work for the series, I must say.

I like all of the characters differently. Dream is of course a complex and fascinating character. I like the abilities of Despair; how easily humans can fall into her. The ambiguity of Desire is interesting; desire doesn't always bring good things. He/she is a sneaky one.
I adore how you portrayed Delirium, that was spot on as well.

Which one was your favourite to do?

I appreciate it :)

I think Delirium or Dream were my favorites with Despair being a close 2nd/3rd. I will redo them eventually. They were done for a livestream event that was 3 hours long and done for each night of the week - live digital art. The visitors told me which they wanted me to do each night.

That must have been a bit of a challenge doing that live. I would never have known.
How much time do you usually spend on a full colour piece?

Wow - this was buried in my message stack - I've been digging out lately. Sorry >.<

I like the live stuff, I just wish my bandwidth allowed for a larger surface area to work with in Photoshop or Painter. Currently I have to reduce my desktop to a ridiculously small size to stream effectively without hiccups. Generally for the quickie pieces like the Endless series I had a time limit of 3hrs each. In comics, as everything, time is money, so the quicker you are the more you make, so to speak. For polished pieces I can spend about 8-16 hours on a piece. The longest ever, has been a watercolor painting that took about a week and a half.

No worries at all, hehe. :D

Well, that is fairly quick. I spend a lot more time on each piece.
I am curious: which one is that watercolour you spent a week and half doing?

It's sadly one I don't have here on D.A. It's a large format piece - was the largest piece of watercolour paper I've ever used - about 8' x 5.5' Landscape and depicts Atlantis at the bottom of the ocean. It was a wedding gift for my brother and Sister-in-law.Nowadays 8-12 hours is the max I spend on a page from Azure, or a comission piece. Ocassionally a book cover will demand I spend a couple days on but even that is rare.
